Heavy haul tires

Buna is the timber end of our coverage. US-96 north through Jasper County carries log trucks, chip trucks and mill traffic, and the loads they carry put a different kind of stress through a tire than interstate freight does — heavy, off-camber, and often loaded on soft ground in a landing before it ever reaches pavement.
That shows up as rock cuts and sidewall damage rather than the heat failures we see down on I-10. It also means a good share of these calls are not on a road: a truck sitting in a landing or a mill yard with a tire it cannot leave on.
Distance is the other factor. Buna is a long way from anywhere that stocks a commercial tire, which is why the answer for a lot of people here has historically been to wait. Call early rather than watching it go down slowly — the run up is the longest part of the job.

Buna sits inside our regular coverage. These are the towns either side of it.
About an hour on average across our coverage. That is an average and not a promise: what it means on the day depends on where the nearest truck is when you call, so dispatch will tell you what they can actually commit to before you decide to wait for us. It is the longest run in our coverage, so call as soon as you know rather than waiting.
Yes. Buna and the US-96 timber country are part of our regular run, not an exception we make occasionally.
Usually. Tell dispatch what the ground is like and how far in you are — on soft ground after rain there is a limit and we would rather say so on the phone.
Yes. The damage up here is rock cuts and sidewall rather than heat. Give us the size and load range off the sidewall.
Yes, and it tends to pay for itself here — checking tires in the yard between hauls is cheaper than meeting the truck at a landing.
