Sulphur is where our Louisiana coverage stops being a courtesy and starts being a market. It sits on the western edge of the Lake Charles industrial belt, and the plant traffic through here — Westlake, Sasol, the LNG and petrochemical work north and south of the interstate — is as heavy as anything on the Texas side.
LA-27, the Cities Service Highway, is the road that matters. It runs north-south through Sulphur past the plant gates and carries contractor fleets, tankers and permitted module moves all day. It is a plant road doing highway duty: signalised, heavy, and full of slow-speed turns that curb trailer tires exactly the way TX-347 does on the Texas side.
East of town the I-10 Calcasieu River bridge is the pinch point everyone knows about — steep, narrow, no usable shoulder, and a long-standing bottleneck. Our advice is the same as at the Rainbow Bridge: if you are having a problem approaching it, stop on this side. Coming down the far side into Lake Charles with a tire going is how a single truck closes the interstate.

Sulphur sits inside our regular coverage — Louisiana is a normal run for us, not a favour. These are the towns either side of it.
Yes. Sulphur and Vinton are part of our regular Louisiana run. The Lake Charles belt is close enough to the line that treating it as a different world never made sense.
About an hour on average across our coverage. That is an average and not a promise: what it means on the day depends on where the nearest truck is when you call, so dispatch will tell you what they can actually commit to before you decide to wait for us. It is our longest regular run east.
Yes. Do the techs hold TWIC cards / plant safety council training? Tell dispatch which facility when you call so the gate process starts while we are rolling.
Stop on the west side. The bridge has no usable shoulder and a truck that gets into trouble on it closes the interstate. We would much rather come to you in Sulphur than to a lane closure on the span.
Yes — permitted and oversize work is a large part of what we do. Tell dispatch it is a permitted move and when the window closes.
